Zilong CHEN has decades of combined experience in mining geology, exploration, resource modelling and estimation, and geological consulting in the mining industry on top of applied research on mineral systems and exploration strategies, academic research, and teaching at CSUT across a few commodities such as gold, copper, tungsten, zinc, lead, tin, iron ore, and manganese in Australia, China, Indonesia, Mongolia, Laos, and Algeria, of which Chen has fifteen years of recent experience in the WA goldfields for gold. He worked for CSA Australia Pty Ltd, Micromine Pty Ltd, Northern Star Resources Ltd, and a few other mining companies in Australia, since he migrated to Australia in 1999. As a results-oriented ore deposit geoscientist with a strong background in both structural geology and geochemistry, Chen has high professional standing, hands-on geological and technical skills, and great passion for ore deposit geology and discovery of orebodies, He is an MAIG, RPGeo, JORC Competent Person, and NI 43-101 Qualified Person with capabilities in: (a) executing drilling programs, core logging, RC chips logging; implementing QA/QC procedures; (b) validating/auditing datasets, resource modelling and resource estimation for gold, copper, zinc, and tungsten deposits; (c) reviewing MREs, prospectivity of search spaces, and exploration strategies for gold, copper, zinc, and tungsten deposits; (d) completing geological/structural mapping (surface and underground); (e) sound project management; (f) conducting technical Due diligence; (g) using 3D and GIS software such as Micromine, Leapfrog, Surpac, QGIS, and ArcGIS. Chen has in-depth expert experience in: (a) Archaean and non-Archaean orogenic gold deposits; (b) porphyry copper and gold deposits; (c) VMS base metals deposits; (d) granite-related tungsten and tin deposits.
